About Shujie

Shujie Yu, a Chinese film composer based in Shanghai
and LA, began playing the piano at the age of six
and completed her Bachelors of Music in Production and Design at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in 2019. Shujie is passionate about creating special, adventurous, colorful music for anima- tion, video games, independent films and documentaries.
During her undergraduate experience, Shujie worked in the Shanghai Fuyue Culture Communication Company where she was an assistant for composer Shen Ji. Shujie also had the op- portunity to orchestrate for a serial animation series and several video games. Additionally, in 2017 she won the first prize for electronic composition in the second ever international online contest called the Feng Zikai cup.
Along with composing for visual media, Shujie enjoys exploring different art forms. She worked on some art installation exhibitions for her audio/visual works. Shujie is determined to always continue to create new scores and dive even further in the world of art.
